Botha Profisios has been a well-known, consistent, caring, versatile and established practice for more than 26 years. They cover all fields of physiotherapy due to the specialization and diverse interest each physiotherapist has to offer. They treat a broad age group, from newborn babies with lung problems, children and adults with sports injuries to geriatrics and the elderly with mobility problems. Everyone in the practice has completed extensive post-graduate courses in manual therapy, orthopaedic rehabilitation and pain management.
The practice grew from three physios to Eight formidable women passionate about their profession, which is a significant milestone for the practice. The practice is situated across the street from Life Rosepark Hospital. At Botha Profisios, they all work together as a physio team with one goal in mind – improving the health of their clients.
At Botha Profisios, you will find a group of enthusiastic, energetic, and bubbly ladies who are very dynamic in their own special and unique way. They are very family-orientated in their practice and accommodate each other’s needs.
The ladies treat their patients with compassion and empathy. They want to make a difference in their patients’ lives. Nothing gives them a greater pleasure to see a patient take their first step after a prolonged hospital stay. They walk the road with their patients and become a part of their journey and goals to recovery.

Elize van Rensburg
Elize van Rensburg has been with Botha Profisios since 2003 and is also one of our directors.
Elize has a particular interest in orthopaedic conditions of in-hospital and out-patients. She has completed her OMT qualification and assisted with the training of this course for a few years. She also attended McKenzie courses for the lumbar, thoracic and cervical regions.
She loves to spend time with her two daughters and husband, read, or catch up with friends in her free time.
Her favourite quote: "Nothing is impossible for a willing heart.”
Sonnika Bergh
Sonnika Bergh, one of the directors of Botha Profisios, was born and grew up in Bloemfontein. She completed her BSc Physiotherapy degree at the University of the Free State in 2007. She worked at Pelonomi Regional Hospital as a Community Service Physiotherapist.
In 2009-2012 they moved to Walvisbay, Namibia, where she worked as a junior Physiotherapist.
In June 2012, she started her journey at Botha Profisios. She is still enjoying serving the community of Bloemfontein at Rosepark Hospital and @Specialist Hospital and treating out-patients at their practice.
“My passion as a Physiotherapist lies in giving patients back a piece of what they have lost, whether it was due to pain, loss of mobility or function. Being able to walk a journey of recovery with patients makes it worthwhile.”
She completed all three dry needling courses, OMT and lumbar spine McKenzie.
She is happily married and has two boys. The men in her life keep her on her toes and her knees. Their family enjoy spending quality time together, outdoors and indoors.
Liesl Meyer
Liesl has been working at Botha Profisios since 2010 and is one of the directors.
She grew up in Port Elizabeth and dreamed of becoming a physiotherapist from a very young age.
Liesl completed her OMT course and McKenzie of the lumbar, thoracic and cervical regions and has a passion for orthopaedic, surgical and out-patient care. She loves seeing her patients improve and regain self-confidence.
She enjoys spending time with her husband, son and daughter, reading, shopping and letting her creative side loose!
Anneke Rossouw
Anneke graduated in 1996 from the University of the Free State and has been working at Botha Profisios from 2007.
She thrives on treating cardiothoracic patients. She also enjoys helping pulmonology, paediatric and orthopaedic patients. "There is sò much satisfaction in improving someone's quality of life."
Anneke has completed numerous post-graduate courses, including dry needling and McKenzie of the lumbar, thoracic and cervical regions.
Reading and baking are essential past times for her. She loves to spend time birding with her family and enjoys nature while jogging or cycling.
Somayne van Heerden
Somayne graduated as an Occupational Therapist in 2002 and as a Physiotherapist in
2006, at the University of the Free State. This contributes to her ability to holistically
treat patients. After graduating, she worked in Private practice and hospital,
(specialising in cardiothoracic), in Pretoria, as well as at a Stepdown facility and Private
practice in Bloemfontein. She started working at Botha Profisios in 2026.
Somayne loves working in the Intensive Care Unit, as well as with surgical,
cardiothoracic, pulmonology, and orthopaedic patients. She has a passion for working
with, and assisting geriatric patients. She is empathetic, patient, and a more "soft-
hearted" Physiotherapist. "Helping people to be more functional and to have less pain,
inspires and motivates me", is her motto.
Somayne completed numerous post-graduate courses,including OMPTG, dry needling
and McKenzie of the lumbar region.
She loves spending time with her son and family at home, as they are her whole heart.
Marili Oberholzer
Marili joined Botha Profisios at the beginning of 2025. She was born and raised in the
City of Roses, and completed her BSc degree at the University of the Free State in 2023.
Marili has always wanted to become a physiotherapist and has a passion for helping
people.
"Working as a physiotherapist carries such a deep sense of purpose, walking alongside
people in their most challenging moments and supporting them every step of the way.
Often, it's the smallest gestures that leave the biggest mark."
Marili enjoys working in the hospital as well as in the outpatient setting. She has
completed Dry needling level 1 and 2 as well as Mckenzie of the Lumbar spine.
She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and dogs or satisfying her sweet
tooth with a new recipe.
Ané van der Westhuizen
Ané graduated from the University of the Free State in 2015. She has been working at
Rosepark Hospital for over 7 years. She has joined the Botha Profisios team in 2026.
She is passionate about treating ICU and Orthopeadic patients.
She has completed courses in strapping, CPR and many more.
In her free time, she's raising 2 beautiful kids, spending time with family and friends, and
conquering DIY projects at home.
